Who this is for

You don't need to be
naturally funny.

Stand-up is a craft. Every great comedian you've ever watched learned the same things: how to structure a joke, how to get specific, how to own a stage.

This course gives you the structure to learn it, in a room full of people who are just as nervous as you are.

"What if I'm not funny enough?"
Funny is learnable. We start with structure, not talent.
"What if I bomb?"
You probably will, once. That's the lesson. Every comedian has been there.
"I wouldn't know what to talk about."
Your life is the material. We help you find it in Week 1.
"I've never performed anything."
Good. No bad habits to unlearn. You start clean.

The 6-Week Plan

What you'll learn

Week 1
Joke Structure
Learn setup, punchline, and tags. Write your first joke in class.
Week 2
Getting Specific
Your life is the material. Learn to make your perspective specific enough to be funny.
Week 3
Building a Set
Order your material. Open strong. Close with your best laugh.
Week 4
Delivery & Presence
Mic technique, pacing, and the power of the pause.
Week 5
Editing & Punch-Up
Tighten your set. Cut what isn't working. Make it land harder.
Week 6
Dress Rehearsal
Run your full set from start to finish. One note from the instructor. Then you're ready.

Why take the class

More than just
going to open mics.

01
Structure beats trial and error
Open mics will tell you what is not working. They will not tell you why, and they will not tell you how to fix it. The class gives you the framework joke structure, specificity, set construction before you ever step on a stage.
02
Feedback is the whole game early on
At an open mic, silence does not come with an explanation. In class you get a real person telling you exactly where the joke fell apart and what to try instead. That feedback loop is worth months of mic time.
03
You will bomb either way. Here it costs nothing.
In class, bombing is the assignment. There are no strangers in the crowd, no awkward walk back to your seat. You learn to fail with less at stake, so by the time you hit a real stage you have already survived it.
04
You will get to a real set faster
Most people who just start going to mics spend months writing jokes that go nowhere because they do not know what they are doing wrong. The class gets you to a complete, performed 3-5 minute set in six weeks.
05
The finish line is Wiseguys
You do not end the class at an open mic in a bar at 11pm in front of four people. You perform at Wiseguys Comedy Club on a real stage, in front of people you actually invited. That is a meaningful first show.

The Finish Line

You close the course
on a real stage.

At the end of six weeks, every student performs their full 3-5 minute set live at Wiseguys Comedy Club in Salt Lake City. Not a classroom. Not a conference room. A real comedy club with a real stage, a real mic, and a real crowd.

Invite whoever you want. Your spot in the lineup is already yours.
